I was wondering, where does one find out what paint schemes that existed on uboats? I dont recall ever being able to find a reference on any of them, so im really curious as to what other paint schemes existed. If theres an orginal photograph of this paintscheme id love to see it. Im not questioning the authenticity, i just love looking at the old photo's.

Have a read through http://www.rocketcopy.biz/models/rok...at_colours.pdf

Not too many pictures, but nicely describes the paint schemes used. It's a pretty exhaustive paper.

Your skins are simply amazing Fubar! Would it be possible to make a Type IIA skin with some of your wonderful skinning abilities ? I also can't find the Type VIIB skin in the pictures at the top of this page on your filefront, any ideas ?

Jager I may do a new skin for the type II in the future.
the skin in the pic above may be this one Fubars58_VIIC.rar
but because of the lighting in the pic I'm not 100% sure

Just one question here.... I`m a NYGM user and looking for a XXI skin right now. Seems the FUBAR`s skin for the boat doesn`t work with this mod and U-2518 I`ve found on realsimulation is apparently broken ( PC keeps screaming the archive is damaged beyond repair ). Any clues ?
And BTW - FUBAR, thanks for the IXD2 skin. It`s awesome !

Default "How to" help

I'm new to the whole issue of modifying skins, but I would like to learn.

Is there a resource on this site that documents the tools and procedures?

Thanks

It all depends in what your SH3 setup is. Lets just say your using SH3, patched to 1.4b, GWX and patched with GWX 1.02. You would have Jonescoft Generitc Mod Enabler (JSGME) installed into the SH3 file sturcture.

1. Open the following pathway: Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/MODS.
- Ok now unzip the "Fubar" skin and place it into the MOD folder.
- Ok now open the following:Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/JSGME application.
- Ok when you open this you will see that skin on the left.
- Ok click on the ">" button and transfer the mod over to the right.
- Ok close all files.
- Ok start game and enjoy.

I hope that wasn't to confusing

My other problem is that the skins are being downloaded as .rar files and not .zip files why is that? and is there a way around that?
