This is a TGA file witch correct a texture for U-boot IX B with 2, 3 tower type.
Unpack this file to \SilentHunterIII\data\Textures\TNormal\tex\

SORRY GUYS my net was down

This splinter type camo is for the type IXB, are you all haveing
this deck issue?

On my setup this skin works fine but if you want I can upload
the files so they are not inside there DAT files.
Also when I have done the type VIIC which won't be to much longer
do you want me to put the tga files in there DAT files or leave them
as tga's.

LukeFF the snorkel texture I will have a look at to see if we can add
more detail.

I prefer Tgas myself. Easier to quickly change skins that way, and easy access for editing...

I installed the splinter camo skin and work perfectly, looks very well after two months at sea , my rusty Ix-b, now i have a fresh and thick layer of paint in my sub :|\

And despite isn´t modelled in the game, the sub is less visible in storm weather.

i love this cleans skins, in 28 days in port there are enough time to paint a new layer of paint in the sub, and prevent hull corrosion.

Extract the skin files of the dat and import again is easy with the DatTexExtract utility

I beleive so. The deck issue isnt present in the IX/1 tower.
But the instant you have an IX/2 or IX/3 tower you get the deck problems.

I've uploaded the type VIIC U552 skin at
http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/
http://hosted.filefront.com/fubar45
as Terrapin is back in action, the files are tga files so if you want to
put them in there DAT files you will need Chessmaster 10 Dat textures extractor in this forum List of modifs. / mod tools / mod tips (UPDATED 08/11/2005)
But you can just use the tga's if you wish but this means this skin will then be used for the type VIIB also anyway I hope you all like it
heres a few pics

I liked the .dat file better but that's just me. Hope I'm not asking for too much but would it be possible to do a .dat also? Since I use JSGME, I just load the skins that I want to use/see. I'll wait for Terrrapin to update his site. Thank You!!

Fubar may have uploaded it but Terrapin has to add it to his website. We have to be patient.

Just make your own .dat, its dead easy:

just open the dat file with the dattexextact.exe tool and open the files that will replace the old ones. Backup your old dat of course, and stick the new one in a mod folder for JSGME, with all the necessary sub-directories.

here's a link to the tool:
