A musuem had a specimen in London on display, and while preserving it they asked a seafood chef for his opinion. Apparently those squid are so chock-full of ammonia, you might as well be drinking piss :P

It's fine by me. Although I enjoy seafood, I'm not particularily a fan of calamari.
