Thanks LukeFF - I totally missed that there was a downloadable manual for the mod! You guys did some great work by the looks of it.

Simsurfer and Clever - yes thats the exact problem I have been having as well. There doesn't appear to be anything that can be done on it.

LukeFF - any input on how to fix the crew screen?

And thanks to Clever and the manual both for the "hide" command that will let me move people as needed.

Just out of curiousity, everyone that has the problem: are y'all running on widescreen or "standard" sized monitors?

1280x1024 LCD (5:4)

Only noticed "the problem" when I read these posts on it, but yes my crew selection screen looks like that too.

edit: The screen is like that only in Balao, Salmon and Sargo class subs. The rest are fine.

Mine is a Syncmaster 912n - 19" standard flatpanel - running at 1280x1024x32@60hz for the desktop. I have tried everything from 800x600 on up to try and get it to look right. No joy. I am running full/single screen on a x1650 - nothing goofy about it. Everything is happy except for that one screen.

Ok, now that the entire Japanese DD Navy is after my a$$ for sinking one of there CV's how do I get my Balao down under the 450 Ft dial? I have read from page 30+- and many people mention the question, no one answers. I need answers here peeps or I along with 75 other Americans are toast. Shift +D is not working, D is not working either, have also tried arrow down, Control +D, Alt+D, Control+Alt & Shift+D.

HELP!!

And if this is a RFB why is the depth gauge on a Balao still reading 450ft mx depth? Aon Balao & Tench class subs the depth gauge Always read 600 ft.

I wish I did. Functionally, the crew setups still work like they should, but unfortunately in your case that screen is going to be truncated a bit.

Hi all i have installed RFB for the first time and it looks great.................
i have all the settings maxed out although i'm still not convinced on the post filter option in the game menu...

I heard this is soposed to work well with Krillers work.....PE

I have played TMO ever since it was made and i am running RSRDC with 1.5 so now that i have chosen RFB i have some Qs

1.eye candy wise what of the 2 mods can offer the best or do they both offer the same awesome details.....

2.Sound wise i havent played much yet was RFB worked on with new sounds as TMO was....

3.with TMO having no real future support at the moment will RFB go from strength to strength.......are the things the team seeks not just realism but great or fun game play as well.....

these Qs are just coming from a nervous gammer trying somthing new.....

Are ther any other mod add ons that you can advise as my new PC can take it all.....but i want stabiltiy above all else...hehehe who does'nt...

thanks for some insight guy will look forward to getting some feed back.

Yes, PPF works in game. I turned mine back on and Krillers work looks great with it turned on. The grainy effect is removed but the shading effect is still present.

RFB is a mix of TMO created eyecandy and of course RFB eyecandy. PE4 is it's own eyecandy which you already know. You get the best of all in one package.

Both are pretty much the same. TMO I believe had a higher percentage of nastier warships. RFB has a good mix so you really do not know what you will get it you attract attention to yourself. Surfacing against armed merchants is not a good idea. Check the deck for guns before you do. The sub damage mod in RFB is far and above what anyone has done. DM for vessels has been re-worked extensively.

Not that I'm aware of. RFB is still evolving. So, watch this space.

You're welcome. Now for some more realistic game play go check out the Dick O'kane method of attack and the constant bearing attack found in the SH4 general forums. You will find yourself not needing to lock every target in your TBT/scope for a successful attack run.

PS. get the RFB manual download.

I've asked about this too. Ducimus set the radar/snorkel depth to 700 ft to solve this problem in TMO. However he also had to do some tweaking to the sub files since the dive planes start acting funny below 500 ft. I'm sure the RFB team has taken this into consideration and is working on it. I think they just need to ask Ducimus nicely if they can use his innovations in RFB and we will have the best of both worlds.

Things from TMO that I would like to see in RFB:
1) Diving below 450 ft, especially with the Tench Class
2) Fix the way the camera tilt is represented in the conning tower. In RFB and stock it is reverse of what it should be. Ducimus fixed this in TMO.
3) Add those nifty and historically correct alarm switches in the conning tower. Ducimus added clickable red, yellow and green switches on the wall for sounding GQ, rig for dive and crash dive.
4) Import all the Tench features from TMO to RFB. Ducimus had a working radar range finder on the periscope head and added an unfortuneately unworkable FM sonar mast (but still cool eye candy) to the deck of the Tench.
5) Not a Ducimus innovation but still cool. Add that mod from Nisgeis that adds a range readout to the radar set. Fortunately the RFB team says they are working on this one.

Thats my Christmas wish. I've been good all year, RFB Santa!

I guess they should have made SH4 an open boat where we run around inside and shoot each other a 1000 times. They seem to handle those games with numerous patches. --Longam UBI SHIV Forums

A sad day has dawned...
