No special deal, no modellers group, just a mate and me....and a few tall tales of a father who was a wartime pilot to the people that lifted barriers

Eep, thank God for prompt fire services! The Rapide is a lovely craft and it would have been a shame to have lost one.

Lovely shots, Jim. I've seen a lot of those aircraft fly in the '80s and it's making me kind of sad that the current airshow season has just ended - not that there are many nowadays.

I nearly went up in a Harvard too but must admit to bottling it in the end...not comfy sitting on a parachute.

Is that a Vosper?

The American Hangar was a bit tricky to photograph in because of the practically non existent interior lighting and the fact the whole hangar entrance was clear glass coupled with extremely sunny conditions outside.

I initially started photographing in 'forced flash' mode but the results weren't all that good so eventually settled for 'automatic' mode.
