Steve, I agree that I would classify it as a light cruiser at best. I just lazily wrote what was on the offical page.

Heavy cruisers usually started with 8" guns and battlecruisers 12". Although the classification and naming depended a bit on what nation built them and weight and armour thickness also blurred lines.

The Belfast is a Town class cruiser and a member of the Edinburgh sub class which was also known as an improved Southampton class. Which means that Belfast was a slightly longer and heavier cousin to the Southampton class cruisers protrayed in SH3 mods.

I took the shot myself on my most recent visit to London in July 2006 from just outside the Tower of London. I visited the Belfast the visit before and have a bunch of better shots which unfortunately were not taken with a digital camera and I haven't been bothered to go through my albums and scan them. I might see what I can do.
