Kind of taking a new route with ROW and such. At any rate, it is in the works.

have the magnetic influence torpedo mechanics been fixed in the latest RFB version... last time i came here (quite some time ago) the was much discussion as to how the contact and magnetic triggers were performing ingame, most people were saying that contact trigger was the only viable setting to use as the magnetic influence ones were not detonating correctlywhen coming close to the hulls of ships.

is this still the case or are both types of triggers performing as intended?

In real life, the magnetic detonators were a huge problem, once the Bureau of Ordanance did some testing they rcommended 2 things until the problem could be corrected:
1. Do not use the magnetic detonators until they could fix them (which they never totally did)
2. try not to hit the target at a 90 deree angle as this would often crush the firing pin and prevent the torpedo from detonating.

So you have randomized chances of the torpedoes being duds and the magnetic detonators not working. In RFB if had as high of a failure rate as 90% between fish running too deep veering off and being duds. But on the very next patrol because of the randomization, approx 80% of them ran straight, hot , and true. This is historically accurate, dig up a patrol report from the Wahoo's 6th patrol (I believe it was the 6th.) where in 9 seperate attacks, nad using all her torpedoes, the Wahoo didn't get one single torpedo to hit and explode.

Right now I'm very happy with the randomess of the dud torps in RFB. I have had them run deep or just bounce off enough times to get me frustrated......just like it was. I did one of these numbers with my head and thought, so this is what it was like. Hours of tracking, perfect shot solution, dud torps No wonder the Wahoo crew steamed at flank speed from Japan to Pearl on the surface!!!! Now that was one pissed Skipper. Great realism IMHO concerning this part of the mod.

Yeah, those torpedoes are all the work of CCIP. He did a great job.

Hanging out, playing CoD4 and Assassin's Creed while shielding my daughter's eyes from their brutal violence.

Awe come on....my 9 year old plays COD. She loves it! I do have the blood turned off. When a soldier pops out she usually screams and turns the game off :rotfl: Lately she has been skippering the SH4 submarines.

I am a Marital and Family Therapist, please let me know when she will turn "Postal". I know a good lawyer specialized in those cases. Of course a copy of your post will be used to proove the responsabilty of her parents....

There's no evidence whatsoever that participation in violent videogames results in murder or killing sprees. If you're a marital and family therapist I suggest you learn about issues before you start raising your opinion here or in your practice.

How about we just prescribe some Ritilin to keep her stable. Have a chemical free day

BTW, if you are familiar with COD, you go through a training course. Then you go into combat. As soon as her character hits the soil in France, she screams and turns off the game. Then it is on to Pokemon or Super Mario. She repeats the training every now and then when she is bored. Which is not very often. She is an A+ honor roll student and is very social with others. I know for a fact she can spell 'responsibilty' which you seem to have a problem with. When she is not doing these on computers, she is reading me books. Therefore, you comment is unfounded and without merit.

Sorry I asked Beery. Back to modding!

Isn't that the problem with free medical/psychological advice. Its usually worth what you pay to get it.
