kpt., the best thing to do from a GWX perspective is modify the menu_1024_768.ini file for GWX 1.04 to automatically use different names for the TGA's for the attack and observation persicopes. With already instituted the end user can just change the TGA's to suit whatever he/she wants for those views. Example:
the periscope.tga is the default for both now but if we modify the menu_1024_768 to look for an attack_periscope.tga and an observation_periscope.tga then this would make life easier for all. Everyone would be free to choose what they wanted for each.
What say you?

Sounds good to me... as long as the textures remain at the caliber that Oakgroove has given us, and as long as the code changes are logged in the end to allow for experienced modders to adjust their own personal installations if they wish.

Just a question: IIRC Ducimus already made this half a year ago or am I wrong?:hmm:
And IIRC this is aready incorporated on his "Flavored to Taste mod" before he goes out to SH4...But I´m not sure.

Okay Racerboy... some more success... and a bit more to go.

Daytime is good to go!... and the attack scope remains unaffected as we would hope.

Nightime... well, the screenshot will explain... still some work to do.
(Will wait to add magnification level indicator code until all else is sorted.)
We are getting there though.

Yep... sure did... and I agree that it is the redmask. IIRC, I uploaded what I had for you to look at if you wish last night on an earlier post here. (Included the GWX optional mod for Integrated Orders too, as it also contains a 1024 Cfg ini file that I modify simultaneously.)

Will re-download dmlaven's redmask and make sure I used the right one with another test.

upload and send me a link to your menu_1024_768 and I'll edit it. I'll send you the correct redmask1.tga also from dmlavan.
I opened up the redmask.tga from GWX and if I lay it on top of the new scope it will create what you posted on the night view. It has to be a menu_1024_768 edit or wrong redmask1.tga that you have.

Rgr.. just completed another test after re-DLing and applying dmlaven's redmasmask1.tga... and triple checked my code entries. The night-time Observation scope problem persists.

Will upload the currect version for you anyway. Please bear in mind that the included optional integrated orders mod must also be modified as well to include this new work. Everything must be done x2 for full GWX user functionality.

Will begin new upload for you in a few minutes.

kpt, found your problem! You need to continue the redmask1 all the way through G2B I19. You stopped at 9!
So: 10,12,13,14,15,16,17,18, and 19 need to have redmask1.tga

Well, it seems to be a step backwards now.:hmm: I've applied the files you uploaded... and a problem with the daytime Obs scope has returned...

Mate, I've DL'd and employed dmlaven's redmask1 tga two times now.

Will come back to this later. Real life calls.
