But anyways why the weak defense? They knew the rally was going to be held. There were hundreds of thousands of angry citizens filling the national mall. They had all the warning they needed. They had the resources to stop anyone from getting into the building or even onto the steps. They chose to ignore it and something happened.

I don't see anything in my post defending Portland or preferring one riot over another. I don't like people downplaying what happened on the sixth or defending it with the weak excuse of it wasn't as bad as something else.

This. We're talking a few thousand in damage. The riots over the summer resulted in over $1billion in damage, and many more deaths and injuries.

LOL, I just used the same metric CNN did while reporting on the protests in Wisconsin back in August 2020.

The way I see it, "they"(as I'm not sure what group/s are involved) have as much right to protest as Antifa/BLM and should be treated the same.

I admit, I do admire them a bit more then Antifa/BLM, the protestors in DC are pissed at the government, so they went after the government ie: the Capital building, Antifa/BLM are pissed at their local governments and rather then go after the respective state authorities, they tear up their own neighborhoods.
