Thanks heaps Global the program works a treat love the relisim it adds to the game.It would be real cool if some how you could add renoun points if you accomplish the extra missions, but i guess that would turn your work into a mod as such and will involve messing around with files etc.....
Like the idea and game play that i can turn a some what boaring patrol into a real tonnage killer if i can sneak into ports and such torp a fat transporter and then run deep and fast away from the attacking escorts..... Great work once agian the game with your help just keeps getting better...... ![]() ![]() ![]()

For the future, I would rather like to improve the missions per se, i.e. increasing likelihood of interesting targets being where the program tells you to go, as well as adding more mission types (Gibraltar breakthrough, etc). I would also like to include U-Boat operations, wolfpacks, suppliers and real radio traffic, but currently I have reached a dead end with these new features. For the moment I am happy that I have found a good solution for the mission objectives, which required some advanced stuff too.

My only complaint. You seem to have wrapped Canada into the "US East Coast". THis is absolutely unacceptable! I mean Canada was in the war long before the US and we sure as **** did our fair share for the merchant lanes, having the main convoy destination in North America (Halifax). I as a proud Canadian am miffed to say the least.
![]() Other than that I'd have to say this prog is absolutely cracking! ![]() |

The naming of the TOO's represents a necessary abstraction, and in no way this alters the way Canada is treated as an individual faction. Quote:
What is realistic I don't know, but the default setting is medium to high, because I want to cater for the beginners, so it must be lowered (and it says so in the help screen too).

Hey, Global Explorer,
I am another realism Junkie, I love the way your Mod has an intel gauge, which I can adjust back and forth as we go through the war. My question is, after dutifully running the program shortly after leaving the port - is it meant to be run again during the patrol - to simulate a radio intel update? Or is the design primarily for the once/patrol use? I am not sure I am using this properly, as great as a mod as it is, I just want to make sure I don't screw it up with user clumsiness, please let me know if it is meant to be used multiple times for "intel dumps" or just when you open your orders. Thanks, Yarre Notewire, U-9 |

Depends on how you play = whether a patrol last a few days in RL of you do it in an evening Every time I reload a saved patrol I run it As you say its like getting updated radio reports ![]() IIRC the intel given is good for around 14 days or so |

I have posted some info on the first page:
List of know issues (for next version) - it seems Sh3Gen, and not SHIII, is the culprit for truncation log entries longer than 255 chars (panthercules) - users of NYGM 2.2 must replace data\Menu\Fonts\FPPencil12.tga with the original version GE

Not sure if this is related or the same as the truncated log entries issue, but my Briefing is getting truncated after running SH3Gen. It seems related to the size of the Briefing...only appearing in long Briefings. The effect is seen in both the loading screen of a saved game and the in-game viewing of the Orders/Briefing.
I am running GWX, SH3Commander, and SH3Gen. To replicate the problem, use SH3Commander to start a new career in September 1944. View the orders and briefing (long enough to cause the problem) and sail from port. Save and Exit to Menu, Tab out and run SH3Gen, load the saved game and the Briefing has been truncated and some extra text inserted (for me it was the saved game filename). Hope this is helpful...

However, you must send me the savegame files before I can say what exactly went wrong! Mailto: mail@christian-wendt.org If you want to rollback to your savegame before Sh3Gen, look into the sav game folder and you will find a backup copy that Sh3Gen has wisely created for every savegame. GE

Save game files and screen shots emailed...
Your mod is great and this problem is not a show stopper. Thanks for caring.

GlobalExplorer,
I do not believe this error is caused by SH3Gen. I can reproduce the truncated briefing without running SH3Gen. It must be in SH, SH3 Commander, or an error with my install of the software. I will do more testing and post again later. Thanks again for your wonderful utility and for your interest in helping me. ![]()

y'know Christmas time and all. I hope that your problem is not related to Sh3Gen, though I wouldn't discount it completely. At least Sh3Gen is altering those files, and distorted text should be theoretically possible. Though there have been no problems of this sort for almost a year, and the only one I know of was discovered by myself (i.e. text spanning more than 1 page and causing a permanent crash). Thanks everyone for the kind words! There is something in the works by the way, and it's not just another version of Sh3Gen, but something completely new. Hopefully I will be able to ready to release it sometime next year. GE
