Many thanks to all 30+ of you.

Beery, are you getting soft? Your first listed feature is a fix for the XXI?

Thank you *1000

I only just came back to SH3 recently as the Vanilla SH3 just didnt cut it with so many little things I expected just not there.

My return was solely due to the fantastic efforts of the SH3 Modding community and Im currently haveing a nail biteing time running RUB 1.42 at 1X speed.

I cant wait to get RUB 1.43 happening.

Thanks for giveing SH3 the :/\chop

Oh yea... and a reminder to those who get it and "live it" -

anything weird/odd/funny/interesting you find about the whole survivability system in the game interests me (damage, repair, detection. Not AI routines though, can't help that.)

So don't be shy, give me a shout if you have something to say on that subject. I want to make sure RUb gets the best survivability system it deserves!

I've got about 90 minutes to enjoy this before I have to go to bed. Am off to Georgia tomorrow morning for a week so no SHIII for me until next weekend.

I have just installed RUB 1.43 and started a new patrol. This time I have only patch 1.4b and RUB 1.43 installed. I started this patrol with SHIII commander 1.43.

Realize that I have not had much time to evaluate this but so far I love it. I made it out of St. Nazaire to my assigned patrol grid-
CF27 (a boring patch of ocean, let me tell you.) I spent a lot of time at 1x on the sail getting out to that god-forsaken patch of ocean and this version of RUB looks great. I love the sky and the water and the sounds.

Hold up there. "Ship spotted." It's a warship so I am going to try to pass by unnoticed. I'll get back to this as soon as I have shaken the limey.

OK, the C class got so close I had to shoot, but I missed. He didn't notice so I counted my lucky stars and headed off south towards a reported convoy headed west. Likely to be empty but Bdu wants hulls, not cargo.

I'm on the road for the next week so my SHIII fix will have to come from you guys. I'll be reading about it as I'm sure you'll be posting vociferously.

One small observation that in no way irritates me. When on the bridge I hear the engine noise very loudly in every direction unless I am looking to larboard. The engine noise cuts out at 300 degrees and resumes at 230. Between those bearings I hear only the rush of the water over the hull. This could be a very good model of my buddy Sid. He did 2 tours in Vietnam, lost his whole squad and his left eardrum to a mortar round, and now shouts at everyone, all the time.

I don't have time to finish this patrol tonight but I love what I see so far. Thanks again to all of you.

Yesterday my gfx card (9800pro) died, so now I have to buy a new one (warranty has expired less then a month ago ), before I will be able to play SHIII again. Anyway, I cant wait to try RuB1.43. Ive been playing with 1.42, and Ive started the new career, I just finished my 4h patrol (before the card died), so now I am in the base and ready to start with 1.43.

Just finished my first patrol of a new career with Rub 1.43 and I must extend much thanks to all of the contributing modders. This is exactly what I've been looking for in this sim. Went up to my assigned AM patrol grid just due West of Scapa Flow and it was quite quiet for the entire 24 hour duration. The crew was getting restless, and it being 5:00am here and pulling an all nighter so was my cup of coffee. "Where dem' boats, capitan?"

Then during one of my last routine hydro checks on a course home South along the AM grids and then up through the channel Karl picked up a fat lovely "Large Cargo". It took me a while to figure out it what it was cause I've never encountered one until I had a good look in the rec. manual. I also counted its rpms through the hydrophone but couldn't really tag a speed on it with that since I had no reference to use it against (I use the chart from the soundtrainer mod). So my stopwatch/nomograph/measuring method had no secondary confirmation. Took me 4 fish to put that thing to the bottom. 1 missed in my initial salvo and then 1 of the latter salvo detonated prematurely (also new to the whole charting/plotting manually, this mod is excellent for that). Had to sail home after that - as fuel was tight and the crew was getting stressed out. One ship, and 11k of tonnage. Very fine in my eyes of a realistic tonnage count for a patrol (only one, but one very heavy ship).

Can't get enough of SH3 with the amazing mods steaming out of the docks. Halifax and his boat, "The Lucky Lucy" extend out.

This looks truly awesome. I've normally 'nerfed' the RUb somewhat, but this one I'm going to install with all the bells and whistles (or lack of such, depending on how you see it :P )

Regarding the Ops Mod: I've heard a lot about this but don't know much about it. What does it do, exactly?

Have to get back to port now!

Thank you all so much for your efforts with this.
