Default [REL] Rain mod -reduced droplet size...

UPDATE..... mod is now available in a JSGME version....Thanks to some generous work by CaptainCox....

UPDATE 2....If your using Leovampire's terrific Living Breathing Ocean Mod...then you will need to manually input the rain values into the scene file.

Read further down in this thread for Captain Cox's excellent explanation on how to use MiniTweaker.

UPDATE 3.....This mod is included with Leovampire's ROW mod

Download here...
http://www.mediafire.com/?fexdju11zjj
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well...I decided I'd had enough of super-sized rain drops...(WAY too big and just looks wrong...like "chalk streaks", as one sub skipper puts it!)

So i decided to visit the Scene_dat. file via MiniTweaker and make some changes.
Here they are...

Catagory 31....listed as "Random Wind & Rain" ,has a listing for MinSize and one for MaxSize.
These values set the size of the water droplets.

Stock values are....MinSize - 0.02 / MaxSize - 0.08

I changed those values to ...MinSize - 0.0095 / Maxsize - 0.04

I think the rain looks much more realistic now with the smaller size drops, but be your own judge and use any value you want...not too small though!...you still want to see the rain!... and by trial & error...I think these values work well.

PS....Dont forget to remove the copy of Scene dat from your Data file before checking out the new rain!

Also,if any modder wants to include this in thier work, thats fine.... all I ask is that you give me some credit.
Thanks!

Now... you just need to find you a big o' storm.......
and...of course......

Enjoy!

Yeah, I changed mine too a while ago, I thought they were too big. Can't remember what numbers I put in though..

Also, you can change the droplet number, I'm at work but think the default is 2000 ish, you can drop that a bit to say 1500

Cheers will check it out! I was fiddling with this early on, but screwed up badly and ended up with RED! rain. This was back when I did not have a clue about tweak files.

For those of us who are technically inept, can there be a JSGME version of this mod made?

I would love to know how to do that, TDK1044....

And its a good idea, but I'm afraid a JSGME version would cause a conflict with other mods that fiddlle with the Scene dat file and
I wanted to avoid unnecesary complications and figured most skippers,( not all, of course), are familiar enough with MiniTweaker that they can easily make the adjustment manually, with out any conflicts.

Cheers!

Thanks Captain...

I have no idea how to use a hex editor

If you could make a JSGME version of this mod, I would be glad to share any credit with you for making it available to the less technically saavy skipper's.

....and I would of course be grateful too.

Let me know if this is agreeable to you.

Cheers!

Cheers man Check your Mailbox!
I tested it and I get OK readings my end in the MT. Actually I am just gonna use it as is...did not have any conflicts with any other mods...I really thought I would

If you want a crash course in rudimentary hexediting PM me.
