Default PB4Y

This was taken by my Grandfather while he was serving in the Philippines circa 1944. Is this in the game, or could it possibly be modded in?

Not in the game (though we have a B-24), someone would have to create the model. I used to see PB4Ys all the time here in NM flying as slurry bombers during fire season. Pretty planes.

Someone might get around to it. Right now it's probably not much of a priority since you'll almost never see allied planes anyway. The B-24 is of course a great starting point. You'd need to rotate the engine nacelles 90 degrees, and add a couple feet to the fuselage in front of the wing, behind the cockpit. Then of course the empenage.

I've been doing alittle research on the AC in the photo, but it's been a slow go. My Grandfather was actually on Palawan Isl. in the Philippines. I have been able to locate a PB4Y2 squadron (VP111) which operated on Palawan during 1944-45. Although not so visable in the photo above, another photo i have shows the AC number designation(Z56). All photos that I've seen from VP111 AC show different number designations however. Is there a way to locate old warbirds as to their past operations and squadrons by useing the designation number on the AC?

Anyway, not to get too far off coarse, it would be nice to see them modded in the game, performing the task they were designated: Maritime patrolling, and bombing. Read several accounts of these AC bombing Japanese convoys.
