I installed LBO to test it. I'll turn it off when they take my computer away.

Default Another Question

I have installed the "Ready to Use Mod" and it seems to be working fine.
My question is,is there anything else that I install along with it.
Is the Living Breathing DDS file Only for those doing a manual setup?

If you have installed the JSGME version you are ready to go. That's all you have to do. Well, that and head up to the bridge to admire those lovely waves.

I was having a drop in FPS with this mod. I decided to run it again last night and my frame stayed exactly as it is without the mod. Therefore, game play stayed smooth. I really feel the boat rocking a bit more and on hard manuvers the sub heels over like it should. Nice touch. Water dynamics is exceptional. Nice work

leovampire:

This is so much better than the default waves, which I thought was excellent in itself. You've totally outdone yourself. I love the drifting effect and boy when the seas get rough, I feel like I'm gonna puke...

I bow to your awesomeness (is that even a word?)!!!

Hey melin71; I found that unticking "Environmental Effects" in the graphics panel gave me a substantial FPS boost during foul weather; so much so that I run without it now. BTW, I have post process filters & volumetric fog enabled; everything on the right side of the panel ticked, 1024x768x32, 4x AF 4x AA, and I get a minimum of 13 FPS but my average is much higher; hope this helps! (What a great game). Zeke

After playing SH4 with this mod and then recently going back to SH3...I have to say that SH3's ocean imo is still better and more atmospheric. While the living breathing ocean mod greatly enhances the SH4 engine one thing I would like to see is bigger waves in higher winds...in SH3 my Uboat is being thrown around so much that it submerges from time to time...it looks as if the boat is "drowning" and trying to gasp for air when it can...really cool looking. I guess in summary..I think the waves in this mod need to be bigger in higher winds and storms.

I assume you're using GWX or SH3 Commander. People used to complain that even in a storm it looked like the sea was dead calm. It took the 'Big Waves Mod' to fix it.

yes im using GWX....after being away from SH3 for a while I now appreciate much more what the GWX team and the modders did with it...its so dang fun to play. At this point SH4 has a ways to go to be on par with GWXed SH3 in terms of character, atmosphere and gameplay, but based on what's been done with SH3 and the fact that SH4 is built on the same engine, I don't doubt the day will come when Sh4 will be just as fun. Can this big waves mod from SH3 be ported over to SH4?

Leo..thanks for the pm, I'm looking forward to it!
