There's a setting in the sh3.sdl file that will adjust this. Use the S3D editor and navigate to:

SH3\data\Sound\Sh3.sdl

Once there, (if memory serves correctly), I believe you're looking for the 'Submarine_diesel_exterior.wav' file. Simply lower volume as desired, save and presto - all done!

Shouldn't be any problem saving games because of this mod, provided you installed while you were in base between patrols. With rare exceptions, adding mods mid-patrol is likely to cause problems with saves made before you changed your game files by adding/removing mods.

If you installed the mod while in base, it shouldn't cause a CTD unless there is something else that is a factor as well - lack of enough system resources, conflicts with another mod, etc. What kind of problem are you having and when does it occur? What other mods are you using if any?

It was mid-save in a single mission so it doesn't matter too much. I guess this is the case. Thanks

Hey all. Excellent work Flak, must commend you. Can anyone give me a link to the OLC mod? I recall hunting for it unsuccesfully a few weeks ago, then RL intruded. Currently using GWX 3.0 Gold + SH Commander and SH3Gen

Right now I got no interior engine sound at all with the diesel working.

I removed the Sh3.sdl file from the mod before installing, because I like the stock/gwx sound better. I was hoping that would work but obviously it didn't.

I'm not planning to do much wandering around in my boat, so I don't care to much about the doppler sound effect that comes with the patch. Also the readme states that there are some problems namely that the sound of the diesel is as loud as it is in the engine room. I tried it and it's incredibly loud indeed my flak gun makes less noise!

So my question: how can I keep stock/gwx engine sound while having this mod enabled? BTW I'm using GWX gold, so I enabled this mod without adding something manually myself the first time I tried it.

Edit: Solved, http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...diesels+louder

Much appreciated Brett. Also installed your other mod, surfaceenginestartup.

Turning all sound levels down except, FX and main in SHIII options helps a lot aswell.

can someone tell me why FM interiors conflicts with st.naz,wilhemshaven,etc...extra ships v6? Try to use both at the same time for eyecandy but they just do not work together.

What are your system specs? The two you named are both major resource hogs. I can run one or the other, but not both. And don't even mention the Merchant Fleet Mod. It's a guaranteed memory sponge if you don't have the latest greatest system.
