Fubar your sub skins are excellent.
Anyway i have a sort of request.
Could you make this skin for type VIIC/41?:hmm:

Don't have to be exact but dark blue lower hull with light gray upper hull and tower and a darker grey for the deck. The hull and tower have a used look(rusty but not too pronounce).

You need photo shop or paint shop, there is a free one called gimp but I have no idea if you can do a skin on that one.

Thx i'm hoping to have a similar looking skin for VIIC/41. Now i'm tempted to buy Academy's 1/400 Titanic model.

Hi everyone

Despite the risk of being flamed i have to make this question. Please forgive my dubness but i have just discovered this great game after years spent flying with Il2-Forgotten Battles/Pacific Fighters and i'm really new on this (No kidding ....:hmm: guess my icon already told you that :rotfl: )

How do i change the skin of my sub: Where and wich skins are a must ?

Please step by step directions needed I use only stock european version (no patch applied yet ) since my computer will not handle GWX or any other super mod.

Cheers

Replacing a skin in SH3 is really easy, imagine you download a repaint, you'll end up with a file named something like this: 'NSS_Uboat7c.dat'

Which in this case would be a replacement for the Type VIIC in Silent Hunter 3, so what you would do is put that replacement skin file in this folder:

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Submarine\NSS_U boat7c

and let it overwrite the original.

It's a good idea to copy and paste the original file somewhere safe first though, that way you can reverse the process if you don't like the new repaint when you see it in the game.

Hi guys

Thanks for such a quick reply, i have just downloaded some Fubar45 skins for my Ixb and future Ixc....i barely can wait to get home and try them.

Just one more question, i only replace that .dat file since i heard there was a DAT extractor exe somewhere....:hmm: i guess i won't mess with that anyway, but i wanted to sound less ignorant when i'm following this thread :rotfl:

No No No.

Use JSGME! JScones Generic Mod Enabler. You can get it here - http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html

This little gem enables your skins/mods while backing up the original files so you can always revert back to the default state of SH3. All of Fubars skins are JSGME ready.

For full instructions on how to use JSGME click here - http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...6&postcount=14
