My cat bit me on the hand. I went to my Doctor to get antibiotics. I was thinking that they would laugh at me for such a minor thing. Not at all. Not a smile in the place. They put me on good antibiotics immediately.

My brother got bit on his hand and he did not do anything. The infection went through he entire hand and he was lucky that his doctor was able to treat it.

A friend of ours got bit by her cat and she almost died as the infection spread up her arm. She had to spend several days in the hospital.

About this Infection-Don't tell me about it have been bitten two times in my right hand. The first time my own cat had bored one of his "corner teeth" deep into my palm-about where the thumb begins. For some weeks I Had deep pain in my hand couldn't use it-Didn't go to my doctor.

Second time it was my neighbors cat who had only manage to bite me so I got a very little hole-Same result a lot of pain-This time I went to my doctor-They went all berserk-Said to them-take it easy I'm not having a heart-stop or something like it. They had reserved an ambulance ready to take me to hand surgeon in malmoe. Wasn't necessary.

I was bitten by a feral cat once, like yours bit deep down to bone (thumb joint) , after my hand swelled like a balloon I decided to go to hospital, was stuck in there for a week.
The money vets charge over here is disgusting so that would be out, he's about 7 years old now. He's a lone cat, no others around, this may be why, could be lonely, but if we got a kitten I believe it wouldn't last long!!

I once got bit by a feral cat that the dog had caught. I pried it out of his jaws and got bit on the webbing between my index finger and thumb for my troubles.

Seems they like to go for the hands, atleast the feral cat that got me didn't live for long, when I got through with it. All I will say is there happened to be a pitch fork close by.
