This weekend I've got yet another of Testpilot's superb aircraft - the Supermarine Walrus.

Making this mod was a true history lesson. The Walrus looks very ungainly and almost a throwback to the biplanes of WW1. Having done a little research, it is apparent that the Walrus was a huge contributor to WW2 working predominantly in the Search and Rescue role looking for downed pilots. It served around the coasts of the UK and throughout the Mediterranean, following the action along the north African coast and on to Sicily and mainland Italy as they were liberated.

A big thank you to Lindley for suggesting the mod, to SSB for digging out the file for me and to Testpilot for giving us yet another aircraft to crash dive from. ALAAAAAAARRRMM!!!

Hello WB

A6Intruder sent me a link to his SH3 files :

http://www.mediafire.com/UffzRohledder

Included is the Macchi 205.
I suggested to him that you might be interested in scripting a Mission file for this plane:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...=1#post1915246

New Italian units in my opinion really add to the game.

This is not so much a release as a re-release.

About a year ago I released a .mis file for Gerome73's FNS Strasbourg. At the time, I didn't know that the ship model I was using was incorrect and the model didn't include the correct guns or searchlights. Thanks to Gerome73, the LSH3 Team, SquareSteelBar and MissingName I'm now able to include the correct guns and searchlights including the French stripes. Enjoy seeing FNS Strasbourg in all her glory sailing around the Med!

If you've already applied the FNS Strasbourg .mis file, just enable the new ship files and she's good to go.

Default Gerome73's RM Roma

The RM Roma had a short service life (just 15 months) and spent it's career transferring between bases while being hunted by firstly the Allied air forces then the Luftwaffe. She eventually fell victim to an attack by Fritz X radio controlled bombs while she was trying to sail to Malta following the Italian armistice.

GWX users will already be used to seeing the RM Roma anchored in La Spezia but I couldn't find her transit journeys scripted (bbw or jim will soon point out if I'm wrong!). I'm unsure whether users of other supermods have the ship modelled, therefore there are two .mis files - one for GWX users and the other for other mods:

Hello WB,

So GWX users only need to add RM Roma GWX mis file in the folder and not Gerome's RM Roma model?

Thanks.

Update: Yes you do otherwise you get CTD.

Sorry - I was away for the weekend. You're right - you need to apply the ship model and the GWX .mis file.

Thanks WB again great work for the Regia Marina.
Also great to see the Maiale in game.

It would be nice to see more Italian AI submarines in game.
I doubt anyone is interested in making an Italian submarine career for the game at this stage.

I've only got one more .mis release at the moment, then I need to start hunting for more ship models...

I have a slightly embarrassing confession to make - I created this file about two weeks ago and forgot I'd made it. While digging around my HD for another project I'm working on I stumbled across it, so my humble apologies for keeping you waiting, but here is another of TestPilot's excellent aircraft - the Macchi 205:

Moreover, while the MC 205 was probably one of the best aircraft built in Italy, it saw little action before 1943, and almost none on the sea: the MC 200 or MC 202 would have been more frequently seen in Mediterranean skies.

In any case, thank you for your wonderful work.

@ Buhring

GWX need different roundel as the stock version of Sh3. This airplane was build for Ccom with "normal" roundels. The screenshot was make with GWX.

Many thanks! I've been looking forward to this addition. I'm also going to stick it onto British battleships and cruisers. Let me finish my current patrol...

the_frog released a number of destroyers back in March 12 and bbw gave some detailed instructions on how to embed them in the campaign:

Although the campaign files have been up on my MediaFire site they've never been formally released as I ran out of time to fully test them. There are two versions:

GWX St Naz - only for use with GWX + bbw's St Naz mod.
Stock GWX - for those not using bbw's mod.

Please let me know if there are any issues - a couple of people are using the mods with no problems but I haven't been able to apply my usual rigorous test procedures.
