maybe im stating the obvious and this is what youve done already, but you simply unzip the contents of the resfix .rar/.zip into the main directory, ie c\program files\ubisoft\silent hunter 3. you dont need any new folder/subfolder, so the 2 batch files, the .cfg file, .dll file - ie all of them - sit DIRECTLY in \silent hunter 3 by themselves, NOT within any subfolder. it should then just be a case of running the setup batch file and adjusting the .cfg file.
like i said, sorry if this is what youve already done. if it is, i use xp, so maybe its an issue with vista, which i cant help u with

Thanks for your answer, but that's just what I'm doing. Well, the res fix reportedly works on Vista - does anyone know if there are any special steps? Compatibility issues? Things like that?

none. I've dragged and dropped it in the SH3 folder and just tweaked the cfg file to the resolution I want. It works flawless.
