Default What is The Trick ??

On my way home from a rather useless patrol I finally see a report of a ship... 60 KM away. [I have printed out the .pdf file The_Hunt... and studied it. Have it on the desk for reference]

I apply the steps in the lesson... but I find that if I have dragged the compass rose across the chart, to where I can use it, the protractor end....goes away, when inside the rose. In fact, if I drag the protractor end THROUGH the rose and out the other side, I still lose the whole leg when I click. Frustrating. I can't see how I can pull the protractor leg at a certain bearing, with any accuracy.. without the compass rose.

Am I missing something here ??

Yes, most probably... the protractor should give you angles by itself, no need for a rose. Keep in mind that the "protractor" mentioned in the tutorial only appears on your game if you patch it to version 1.4b... it doesn't come with the stock game out of the box.

But whait, I don't understand... what rose are you refering to?... at any rate, the method should work without the need for a rose.

I think I know what you mean now... leave the rose overlay alone, tucked away in the corner where it belongs (never found any use for it). What you are looking at in some of the pictures certainly looks like the rose overlay, but it's not. It's a visual aid that you get that by pressing the ? icon on the nav-map tool menu.

Hope this sorts it all out

[G'Mornin.. 0620 local]... Yup, the rose overlay from the corner is what I was referring to. Sure I can work out the angles...Relative and True... I just thought how handy it would be to be able to lay that Rose out and drag the vector up through it! {as it appears to be, in the drawings}

I AM patched through 1.04b and Grey Wolves.

I'll link those tutorials onto my L/T... set it up here and when I need the lessons, I can see then images more clearly than my printer did..

And, for some reason, nothing happens when I press on the ? Icon on the Nav Chart. 'Course I don't know what is supposed to happen. What is ?

Thanks for your time, trouble... and help..

You should see a mini compass on each map tool you use after pressing ?
