Default Question about crew performance-

The only discernable things I've noticed with my crew over time is their endurance, and with qualifications, the number of sailors operating a particular station.

Anything else I'm missing here? Anything beneficial to promoting sailors?

How much of a difference is there between a green crew and a maxed out crew? Personally the biggest factor I've seen is qualifications, and once everyone has them (all the officers/WOs) the other stuff doesn't seem to make as much of a difference.

My understanding of it is the higher rank a sailor is, or if they have certain medals, the more effective they are at the compartment they're in. You can test this by watching how far the little green station effectiveness bar fills up by placing crewmembers of different ranks in it. A officer will fill it up more than a petty officer, who will in turn fill it more than a regular sailor. That also goes for the ranks in between as well...i.e. a stabsbootsman will fill the bar up further than a bootsman, even though they're both petty officers

Here is a question if I give my watch officer a flak gun qualification will that make my flak gun work better on top of just having the watch officer there in the first place?

Yes. I always qualify my watch officer with flak and gunner as it makes all three of the compartment strengths rise.

The more experience, rank, medals, quals, makes compartment efficiency go up. Torps load faster, deck/flak are more accurate, watch spots things sooner, radar/sonar work bewtter with qualified chiefs. It's very noticable if you go from a vet crew and start over again.

I hate n00b crews. Dang rookies.

once the green meter is already filled up, is there any benefit to puting more experienced sailors in the slots?

I think so or at least I hope that putting 5 torpedo senior petty officers and a top notch officer with torpedo qualifcations and a full load of seamen will load my tubes faster.

Not really. I didnt notice any faster load times with overkill crew. To me, it just tires out your crew faster.

As far as gunner or flak gunner is concerned. I get to WO qualifications for them. It helps in the reload and targeting areas.

Two sonar qualified WOs as well. I use them only for sonar. Radio is too easy

Two watch qualified WOs too. I trade them out when one gets tired.

Two torpedo Officers. An officer does really well in speeding up the load times.

Two engine qualified WOs. Same treatment as the watch officers.

One medic WO

One repair officer.

This is my minuim. After that I just fill up with what I think I need.

Medals go to Watch, torpedo, and sonar officers first. Gotta take care of your bread n butter. These guys can save you.
