I've been playing with a scenario of mine where several Oscars have to slip past a sub barrier to attack a CVBG. The thing is, SS-N-19s have an enormous maximum range, and I'm trying to think of how to get the AI to take advantage of that.
Sonar can't reliably detect targets out that far, so in order to really use these weapons the way they're intended to be used, one has to rely upon some sort of external targeting information, be it from aircraft or even maritime surveillence satellites. Has anyone any ideas on how to model it? |

Edit: ok .. so you don't even need script. As soon as any platform of same side as oscar will detect the target, oscar will go to launch depth and will launch 3 missiles. I used target mode 'attack' and and I designed which ship should be atacked by oscar. Oscar maybe will not attack just because the target is there. But if he really wants to attack it, it works like hell. I used SU27 in passive mode as spy. Last edited by Dr.Sid; 10-09-06 at 01:47 PM. |
