Default Mod Request, Both languages at same time pls.

I play Greywolves mod.
I speak english, barely understand german.
I put the voice part on german so the game talks in german.
I would like to put the text in german so that i could learn the language a lil more but I don't know what the heck is going on if I do that. (I've already deleted save rather than load it! Never mind the game set up screen though)

I would like, for in the actual game playing, A MOD, that would put all printed text, 'ship sited' and like that, in both english and german, yep, everything would be put twice. The radio messages also please.

This way I can learn German and still be able to play.

I don't think what you have in mind would be practical or even possible, though I admire the fact you're trying to learn a language by playing a game.

How about buying a German-English dictionary, and maybe listen to some tapes or taking some german lessons to begin with...

I remember this already being suggested! And some mod pointed out that it would cramp the text area too much!

Books and all that I have, including a dictionary.

Could they put the sentences one after another, like 2 sentences in a row, instead of just one.

I may have been the guy who recomended it last time heh.

Shouldn't you be able to edit the en_menu.txt to add in ( ) next to it the German text as well?

So for instance in data\menu edit en_menu.txt to change this:

810=Ship spotted, sir! Bearing %03d! %s range!

To this:

810=Ship spotted, sir! Bearing %03d! %s range! (Schiff gesichtet, Herr Kaleun! Richtung %03d! %s Entfernung!)

I don't know well the spacing would work, and it's a crap load of editing, but might get what you're looking for done.

Or switch to English voice and German text? That way you hear what they are saying, but see what it is in German.

HELLO, use SH3 Cmdr, it has option for English/German text and language. Although it don't dislay both. But with english language, and german text, should be able to figure it out. Or take all language text and use BabelFish Translator, print them out.

Greatly helped me learn English. But then again, of course I had English classes in school, too.

Try the opposite, English speech and German text. Though you should know that the German voice actors don't neccessarily say the same thing.
