hi all,
sorry if this has been brought up before, but i was wondering if anyone has experienced this: if i save and exit a game while submerged and in the vincinity of any kind of enemy warships, when i go back into the game it reloads with the sound of crashing, and breaking glass, etc. and my hull strength gets reduced by close to half!! ie: last night i was about 1/2 mile away from a destroyer, it wasn't even close to finding me, and when i saved and reloaded there was a whole lot of noise and my hull strength went from 100% to 57%. i went to external view right away and the destroyer was still far away and not even heading my direction. (this is in oct' 39, type vii boat) my depth is still the same as when i save and exit, so i am not doing the dreaded crash dive problem. anybody know anything about this? thank you. |

This has happend to me many times
![]() It also happens when I am not submerged and there is no one around. However in this incedence I dont loose any hull integrity. I just hear the banging and crashing etc.. I dont understand why it happens for and it makes no sense to me. So now when I need to get some sleep, go to work or do other things. I just pause the game and minimize the screen. But I guess this only will work for you if you leave your PC on 24/7 365 like I do ![]() |

@ Cybagirl - This is a stock bug. Basically, everytime you load SH3 it starts with a non-damaged model then adds your damage from your save. Alas, there is no way to correct this.
@ Planecrazydale - FYI - It's a good idea not to save while submerged as it can cause all sorts of problems.

i try not to save while submerged...but sometimes i have to. and i don't get any damage unless there are warships nearby. i can save submerged without any damage if there are merchants, etc around. but just no warships. weird...:hmm:

I have had this problem occasionally when saving whilst surfaced. When I reload the glass on a few dials shatter, but as Cybagirl says there is no effect on hull integrity. It's a pain in the butt that you can't save submerged because of this bug because sometimes you just run out of time and need to do something else and you just got to save. Perhaps making a couple of saves just before exiting the game might help i.e. if one reload gives problems perhaps the other one won't.

true, but i there is an effect on hull integrity. like i said, i went from 100% integrity prior to save to 57% when i went back into the game. and the worst thing is that it ended up costing me the mission when i did get caught by the destroyer because i only had 1/2 the hull strength left so i got nailed.

As many have said, don't save while submerged because of the game bug.
But if the enemy is too close and you need to stop, then I just pause the game, minimize to desktop and turn off monitor until I return. ![]() Make sure you have a backup battery just in case you lose power. ![]() |
