I have the new release of NYGM and SHIII commander. My first question and I know this has probally been answered many times is when I try to play a single mission it tells me I have to many sailors go to barracks. I wont be able to play a mission. I also noticed a drop in crew rateings, on the damage control screen in the game, even if I have the most qualified personnel in a compartment the crew efficency bar is not even up a quarter of the way is that a new feature in NYGM? I followed the directions for SHIII commander and left the fatigue blank. Thanks for your help.

NYGM has changed the way crew efficency is displayed on the Crew Screen to help with it's extended repair features. Bottom line is, ignore the green bar!
![]() That doesn't mean it doesn't work! It still does, but it's not as vitally important as it was before. Just try to keep a fresh crew on stations and you'll be fine. That ties in with the other question you had, crew amounts. Crews in NYGM are far smaller than vanilla or GW and if you use a career from those you might get that error. Just use the barraks to remove people. Here's a diagram of my NYGM crew: ![]() As you can see it's a smaller sized crew compared to normal, but gets the job done! ![]() The rotations work like this: 0800 - 1600 Engines: Engine Shift A / Engine Officer A Helm: Helm Shift A Sonar: Sonar Shift A Watch: Watch Shift A Stern Quarters: Stern Medic / Engine Shift B / Engine Officer B (if not in Navigation) / (Torpedo Crew in non used Engine room) Bow Quarters: Bow Medic / Helm Shift B / Sonar Shift B / Watch Shifts B & C / Watch Officer B 1600 - 0000 Engines: Engine Shift B / Engine Officer B Helm: Helm Shift B Sonar: Sonar Shift B Watch: Watch Shift B Stern Quarters: Stern Medic / Engine Shift A / Engine Officer A (if not in Navigation) / (Torpedo Crew in non used Engine room) Bow Quarters: Bow Medic / Helm Shift A / Sonar Shift A / Watch Shifts A & C / Watch Officer A 0000 - 0800 Engines: Engine Shift A / Engine Officer A Helm: Helm Shift A Sonar: Sonar Shift A Watch: Watch Shift C Stern Quarters: Stern Medic / Engine Shift B / Engine Officer A (if not in navigation) / (Torpedo Crew in non used Engine room) Bow Quarters: Bow Medic / Helm Shift B / Sonar Shift B / Watch Shifts B & A / Watch Officer B And so on.. phew! ![]() Last edited by kylania; 10-05-06 at 06:05 PM. |

Is there a way to setup the crew configuration so it works for you automatically?

Not till SHIV, though I've been wondering about possibly using the 2 default buttons to arrange that kind of thing maybe? Problem is I don't understand fully how they work yet, and some people have reported that they cause CTDs. So not sure how well they would work.
