i dont know if there are other threads and i havent been able to find any but does anyone know if a ww1 uboat mod is in the works or is already out?

no on both counts as far as I know. This would be quite an undertaking, and I don't think anyone has attempted it yet.

If we work on the theory that game marketeers move in fashions then WW1 seems long overdue. Previously WW2 has always been the most fertile ground for game designs with FP Shooters being dominated by Normandy and naval sims by the Atlantic. More recently shooters have “done” Vietnam and naval games moved to the Pacific.

WW1 is perhaps the next big thing – witness the upcoming “Shells of Fury” … who knows.

A WW1 Uboat sim has been in development for quite some time now of course – see Deamon’s indie project “Imperial Uboat Flotilla 1914-18” . This is likely to be a full bells and whistles thing but it won’t be coming out for a while yet.

wait so is there a ww1 mod that is available for download the last link u gave me redirects me to the imperial flotille section i know this is ww1 mod but is it available for download.

It is not a WWI mod. It is going to be a full-blown seperate WWI game when it comes out. Which won't be for a while.
