Default Prestige accumulation (do not reply, found it)

Howdy,

I have a question on prestige that has perplexed me for some time. I was curious what the exact formula is for the accumulation of prestige points. I am running the Grey Wolves super mod (I love it) and prestige seems significantly harder to accumulate. Do you get more prestige for greater tonnage or number of ships? What about attacking war ships? Are there other factors that effect prestige, assuming you complete your patrol objectives?

Thanks,
Bloody Bill

Its bloody complex but basically you get credits for tonnage, surviving DC attacks, competing your task orders, and a few other things (planes shot down etc).

You lose credits for getting your crew members killed, having your sub beat to near death, and not completing your work orders, and returning with ordinance remaining.

What the actual numbers are I dunno. Might ask over in the modding community.

Well thats me taking a hit then as i have just had the patrol from hell as far a ship sinkings goes. I have not seen a single thing on my patrol and have been hunting for nearly two months game time now. Have had to return to base due to lack of fuel.
Il be in for it from Bdu when i get back.

Next time sink a few tug boats (shrug)...

Yes getting credits in GW can be exasperating espically when you get good hits on ships and have to retreat due to DD's persecutions and not getting credits because you were too far off when they finally sink.

Another favorite is lining up that perfect shot on a lone corvette only to have them see the incoming in the nick of time and veering out of its path.. or worse yet what I call a doink shot (dud).

Not only did you waste a torp but now you have to spend hours / days on the defensive.

I then decided to attack only merchants on that tour and ended up like you finding nothing (except tramp steamers) which I let go, running low on diesel and returning home.... sigh. Next time Ill sink those stupid tramps. (before someone asks.. the weather was too bad for deck gun )

But frankly its a lot more realistic like this.

I agree it is alot more realistic like this. I much peffer having the odd barren patrol instead of sinking stupid amounts of tonage evey time out.
You were luck to at least see a tramp steamer i did not see anything apart from my own boats refection
