Default Silent Hunter III expansion

Hi,

I read on the game news there is going to be an SHIII expansion: "U-Boat: Battle in the Mediterranean"
Read it on Gamershell: http://www.gamershell.com/companies/...re/306083.html
One thing that catched my eye was this: Experimental Super Sub.

What could they be pointing to? any real life info on this one?

Thnx!

There's a lot of hostility towards this expansion pack in the subsim community, and with good reason.
Evidence has again come up that suggests the developers of the expansion have taken parts of freeware mods and sold them for profit.

But even the mod at face value is by all accounts not all that flash. You'll find that the freeware supermods have been more professionally and carefully done, because they were done by people who care.
For what is supposed to be a professional product, the med expansion is a fallacy, both in it's quality, and because of the stolen content.
Of course, we can't do anything about it... because ubisoft owns the rights, and the med expansion is a sanctioned mod they can take whatever they like. It's highly unethical though.

Well said. Not to mention that NYGM and GW are by far superior in all points of view. They have been made by big hearted men, who love this game and what it stands for...history.

Not true for the 100th time.

Adding new content and textures and stuff is not illegal, as sergbuto said, it's like saying you can't write and distribute upload documents created with MS word or Adobe.

That's not what I meant, i didn't even say anything illegal is being done. Of course it's fine for modders to add new content.

Default Thanks for all the fish!

First I would like to say a big thanks to all the folks who develop both GW and NYGM super mods, and to helpful modders all over.

Second, is this X1 expansion really virused? And what's with the super sub?

Thanks,
Yarre Notewire,

No it is not virused.
Someone that installed one of the SWs got a virus and has asked if it could have come from it and the conspiracy theorist went bananas, again.

Thousands have it installed and one had a virus from somewhere else but apparently at the time he installed SW

I have it on both my PCs with no virus and my game PC is not online and has no protection so if there was one it would have gone amuck!

Oh, the super sub. Well, let me just say I never saw the point of it and simply would never use a fictitious U-Boat anymore than I would use a Nuke sub making 60 knots in SH3

But, IMO!!
