Default Modding Convoys

Hi All !

Can anyone please tell me where I can find the convoy files, and how I can modify a convoy's composition (ship types, dates etc). Many thanks in advance.

Data\Campaigns\campaign
The convoys are in the RND layer
Open with notepad

To change\add to convoys mission ed might be the way to go

What do you have in mind Shahed ?

Hi Wooly !

Thanks for the reply.

Well I've just spent about 25 days looking for the KMS (20-22 it's in google, first link) near Malta. Bagged 4 other cargoes, 2 with the deck gun, still have 29 shells left (GW1.1).

I want to have a look in that file and see how the convoys work, because I'm convinced I'm looking in the right place but.... still no convoy. Have a look here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...d=1#post302430

Ok maybe 14 more days but if nothing passes through here till then, that means I don't understand how the convoys work in this game. I don't want to be limited to hunting in chokepoints.

Also I want to change the convoys a bit so that I can see bit more variety in them and perhaps mod some military convoys in as well. Ammunition freighters with some cruiser/DD/air cover through Gibraltar, for example.

I'll have a look after this patrol and report back. Got any ideas ?

Thanks for the help.

:hmm: Scripting historical stuff is a nightmare - believe me I know lol

Convoy KMS leaves Firth of Clyde 22\10\42 then every 247 hours

9 mercs and 4 escorts - yes in RL should be a lot bigger,well from 43 on anyway

Let me know wher you are and the date and will give you a rough idea if its on way or gone
lol

LOL ! Ok

My date is now 10:21 Febraury 1st 1943, am in grid .. well here's a screenshot, easier.

The circles are my 20km search zones. Lines are routes I've spotted single merchants on. I should meet one if there are 3 which leave every month.

Have I a chance, soon?

You can add more units

[RndGroup 113.RndUnit 10]

Side=0
CargoExt=-1
CargoInt=2
CfgDate=19411201

SpawnProbability=100
CrewRating=2

Or open up mission editor and load the rnd
Zoom into the Forth of Clyde and you will see the convoy

You can add ships through that and save

You cant change the rnd while on patrol as the game will CTD
And make a back up first

No worries
When you save the rnd ( in mission editor ) use the "save rnd as" command
Seems to save better that way than just saving normally

There is a limit to the amount of escorts you can add before they go crazy - not sure what it is but stay below around 12 should be ok

If that figures wrong someone will let us know

Hi Wooly !

I checked out the mission editor, OMG ! Awesome ! I did not check the convoys waypoints, but I did beef it up. Man that convoy was puny. I added 15 more ships. :p

You can really make the game so amazing. I did back up my file though, just in case. That's a good standard procedure with a game of this complexity.

Now back to the hunt and I hope I find it ! THANKS !
