Default GWX concern

While I was training w/ the deck gun, I must have gone through over half the ammo that is available to me.

The cargo ship never went down.

Now I am bringing up the question, how is one to sink all five ships in training w/o

running out of HE? It will not be possible to do it. Or am I wrong.

BTW, great mod, so far I do like it.

I find by aiming at the waterline I can reduce the number of shells I need to sink a ship. Aiming for the engine room, fuel tanks and ammo bunkers will also help.

Diffrent mods might require diffrent amount of shells, due to different damage models and hit points.

Good luck

There´s been atleast 3 threads on this same subject lately. So, here we go again.

1. Aim below the waterline, different parts of the ship.

or

2. Complete the training levels without the grey wolves, install it after the training missions are completed.

One of the things Grey Wolves does is make it so that you can't blow up the ship by shooting at its bridge, fuel bunkers, or other vital parts. The only way to destroy merchants with deck guns is to hit them below the water-line and thus make them sink from flooding.

You can blow up the merchants by shooting them ,but it would take you a huge amount of shells and time.
Best thing to do is aim below the water-line at the fuel-bunker or engine room and the ships will go down sooner or later.

Would it be ok to modify the gun's power for that mission and change it back to original therafter ? It should'nt (theoretically) cause any issue, and would allow users to save oin the reinstallation.

OMG how do I remove that freakin Popeye avatar ?????!!!???

Sure, you can modify the power, but the ships still would take ALOT of shells to go down, as the damage model sink ships by flooding.

Shahad If you make a reasonable donation to SubSim.com, Neal will give you the option to choose or make your own avatar.

Of course not, I am just really eager. I've been in contact by PM with 3 members of the GW team, Cmdr Gibs, JScones and Rubini. Their descriptions as well as what I've read here means we will have a whole new sim. So no need for the I want them to get it right. Will make X1 look even worse. :rotfl:
