newbie question regarding AI u-boats

I remember reading somewhere that there are not any AI u-boats in SH3 at all, so the only chance to play real wolfpack tactics is to play MP.

Is this true? And if it is, are there any mods that fix it?

There are a bunch of mods that make a reasonable fist of what is probably the most disappointing ommission by UbiSoft. Get on of the mods like Grey Wolves which includes AI U-Boats. I must say I've only ever soon one of these make an attack and that was very disappointing watching a u-boat on the surface charge in at 3 DD's and get blasted to pieces. Mind you it distracted them enough to allow me to shot two of them. the remaining one DC's me for a while before clearing off when he lost me.

There is a Wolfpack mod around here,make a search for it.Also,GW has AI friendly U-boats,but mostly just for show really

.If you can get hold of a US sub-model (again there's one on the forums here somewhere,just search for it) you can place it yourself on the campaign map.Also,search for Bigboywooly's sh3 mission editor "tutorial".
