A Question for History Buffs
Ok here goes is there any recorded evedence of two u-boats in a wolfpack attacking and sinking the same ship in a convoy with torps.

If 2 U-Boats attacked/claimed to attack the same ship and it sank they were awarded a 1/2 kill.

You must remember that communication wasn't as good between sub's as other ships. The sub captains were always on the look out for a big ship to sink so if there were a couple of U-boats out there they would offen gun for the same target.
![]() This also happened with US boats in the first mini-wolfpacks they used. Better communication and pre-planning helped reduce cases latter on. |

In fact Wolf Packs really for the most part weren't much like packs. They were just a bunch of U-boats attacking the same convoy. They had little to no communication between themselves so there was really no unified strategy for attack. If they had such a thing the packs might have been muchmore successful. Imagine attacking on one flank to draw away the escorts and having 5 others attacking the other flank. But this wasn't possible given the way captains tended operate plus the use of their radios became a homing beacon for escorts given their new "HuffDuff" trackers.
