Default Deck gun Removal

Just wondering if removing the deck gun increases surmerged proformance? I was thinking of removing it if I made it to 43 in this career. Another question is there a big differance between the 88 and the 105 ? I have had this game since release and NEVER commanded a type IX sub beleive or not.

The 105mm does quite a bit more damage, especially with the HE rounds on the weather-deck cargo. As for AP's and hull shots, it does a little more. The blast radius is increased (from 3m to 5m, I think), but the "power" is something like +10%.

Removing the deck gun won't do jack. Ubisoft didn't model water flow, they just put static numbers in for the performance. IRL, it would probably have made a difference of a quarter of a knot. The conning tower's resistance far surpasses the deck gun.

Well prepare for your life to be sucked even more
IX rock
I never leave port without it

All those extra torps and increased range
Sure it dives like a pig but theres nothing like the coast of the USA and South America
All those Tankers

90% on my time in this game has been on the VIIC , rest on Bs ,41C and II.But Im getting tired of the same old grids. I live close to Norfolk VA USA and have spent some time off the NC/VA cost fishing wrecks so I figured it was time to add some more fishing stucture.Any far off ports I need to visit , to bad they couldnt air drop my VII off the US coast so I could run the shallows. I dont think I ever have been to crush death in the year and some change Ive owned this game.

You can remove the deck gun using the option in SH3 Commander. It will make no difference in the game performance-wise whatsoever. *But* you can use a mod for that. Check here:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...2490&highlight

The performance enhancements are educated guesstimates.

The file has been removed from rapidshare due to inactivity, but I will upload it again, when I´m back home in an hour or so (still at work).

*UPDATE* Here's the link:
http://rapidshare.de/files/27702588/..._GW_v1.7z.html

The mod was made for the Grey Wolves, but it should be OK with the stock game also.

If you're into incorporating performance changes due to a heavy flak configuration, check here:
