Default Station Access with GW Mod

In the defualt SHIII you can back out of stations with a mouse click but you can't do this from periscope or nav map. I have a mod that maps the "0" key on the numpad to do this function from every station. It makes "sim" play so much better.

Now that I have GW installed I want to know if it too has such a keyboard short cut? If not I'll install my old favorite mod.

I use Numpad '0' all the time to do just that, but I'm using a combination of mods so I don't know if it's from one of them, the stock game or something I picked up along the way.

You can change it yourself by editing hotkeys.cfg (I think).

You can either mod the grey wolves one to what you had or just copy in your old one. I carefully checked the grey wolves one and there are no new commands or anything to screw it up if you change files that i saw. (just some minor tweeks similar to goback).

The one i wrote for myself way back when sh3 came out, can back you out of all stations, and in logical steps. I also remaped several keys. Ive been using it ever since

I have two such files where i added a go back to previous view for every station you can occupy. Infact the way i have mine set up, you could remove every hotkey in the game and still be able to move about the boat. One file i have is type 7's, the other for type 9's. The difference is the "Goback" function on the observation periscope. Type 7 returns you to rear control room, type 9 returns you to conning tower.

I had thought of seeing about getting these included into the next release of GW but totally forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me.

Ya in mine i only used one and had the observation periscope exit to rear part of the command room. Too much of a pain switching cfg files when i change subs (or careers). I could also kill off all the station hotkeys too My favorite use of it is backing out a step from looking into the attack periscope to looking at it so i can open the tubes Just wish that view wouldnt sway so much.

Okay was misled there for a minute

Thanks, Bigboywooly

Oh and I'm so excited now! I should go to sleep, but all I can think about is how I'm going to get the feeling of actually being inside my boat when I play next time.

Thanks guys

Thanks guys for all the help. I'll have mine back to par in a jiff. I was hoping someone on the GW mod team would read this and get it included in the next release. Good news. It certainly adds to the overall emersion of being in the sub.

BTW: JohnnyBlaze, in case you don't already know there is a undocumented key command for free roaming. Shift F2

Yes I was aware of that sometime ago, but have nearly forgotten it. Thanks for reminding
