Default Images of the next Russian sub

Interesting... wonder how realiable this model is?

nice pumpjet too.

Problem is that with the Russian Navy in the financial bind it is... how long does it take to finish a sub... like 10-15 years of construction? and that's if its not cancelled and scrapped before hand, let alone if their will be any further units of the class.

I hope they never complete it, why do they need one? They have the US as an ally now, not an enemy

How about the US dismantles the 60 688i and 20 or so ohio submarines ?
Why would the US need them anymore ?
How about the 10 nuclear aircarft carriers ?

sorry... the US aircraft carriers will have to stay... operational necessity...
and i doubt if there are 60 ssns in the inventory, or 20 ssbns prowling around either...

the new Russian sub is probably being built for a lot of the same reasons we're still building subs... besides, if they decide they don't need it anymore, India will always be there to make an offer...

26 SSN's 16 SSBN's 14 SSGN's total russian force

(note SSGN is deemed attack submarine also note this is from the last inventory i picked up dated 2005)

As far as I understand yes. Cruise missiles and not SLBM missiles.
