Crew speach sound level

Hi somehow my crew has severe laryngitis and can only whisper to me. This seemed to happen suddenly and applies to all 3 game mods I run (IUB RUB GW) Searching the forum indicated that editing the main data folder in Documents and Settings\My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\maincfg will result in better values, but I have tried the suggested values plus "volume speech" values between 50 and 200 but only get small variations in the speech level from an inaudible whisper to just a whisper. I am not "silent running" and all other sounds are fine and do adjust predictably. Any ideas?

I get it sometimes, even when in 1x time compression, im just running the stock game, with sound/graphic mods, i put it down to the sound mods as the problem, I think i may enabled to many of them. Sometimes all the sounds work and other times i will get problems with the crew speaking in very low voices?

In the main.cfg set the [Sound] block thus:

Music=Yes
VolumeGeneral=150
VolumeMusic=98
VolumeFx=98
VolumeSpeech=100

Have tinked with this for ages & this is the best settings IMHO!

Simply check the sound levels in the sound options (start the game and after the loading screen go to options then sound) . They should be on zero . I have had the sound level at minus after installing certain mods .

Thanks for the answers it seems that the sound level in the sound options had indeed been in the negative (too many mods I guess) When reset to zero I can now hear my crew again!
