Default Article on Dazzle Camouflage

Here's a website with interesting information on Dazzle Camouflage. That's the strange method of painting ships in high-contrast geometric patterns.

I've always been under the assumption that "dazzle" made it difficult to get a angle-on-the-bow, or a heading in general. Zig-zagging would have made things even more complicated.

Why wasn't it used more often on WWII transports? Was it that tremendous of an undertaking by the paint crews? Did it need that much maintenance to keep it's usefulness?
