Default I'll Say This about NYGM 2.0

I really get the feeling now that I am out there conducting sub ops and really having to manage the boat and the mission like never before.

No more throwing caution to the wind and taking unnecessary risks.

No more 1 mission a day game play. Now it is one day at a time.

All in all... pretty darn neat....if folks still remember and use that term..

Yep, see, that's what I said. I think NYGM's changes to game mechanics add a LOT more gameplay. They definitely make patrols last longer - and not by making you go at lower TC, but giving you more to sweat over which, in my book, is a big plus to the game.

Thanks for the feedback and I think it sums things up very well.

I have noticed a lot of changes in the way I play.

One is when in shallow waters I am now quite concerned about encountering an escort and do my best to stay clear of the shallows.

A quick qestion while we are talking about this ace mod. I just want to make sure I am using the correct fatigue/ morale model:

Using Sh3 commander, under gameplay settings, I don't touch anything, right? I just leave the 'use fatigue model' box unticked?

Just want to make sure.

Thats how I did it....and the crews need to be relieved every 8 hours.

Correct.

The crew has an 18 hour model, but I suggest 12 hour watch reliefs.

Before nygm 2 i used to sit in front of the convoy at periscope depth . the leading escort would not detect me . I would then sink some ships then head to another zone . NOT ANY MORE .

:hmm: Hmmmm...mine can't seem to make it for 12 hours....though admittedly they are all green as grass and we are just on Patrol 1....have been for the last 3 RT days.

In medium fog and heavier weather no way they would make it for 12 hours without relief.

Yeah the watch must be switched every 8 hours. I switch them at 8.00, 16.00 and at midnight. Works perfect for me. Before i played iub 1.03, but yesterday i installed nygm tw 2.0. I can just say WOW! The sound of the diesel engine is great! I dont like the sound when we go to periscope depth. The graphics arent so nice like with iub 1.03, but there is a lot more in this game. the docks around kiel are settled, and kiel cannal also. In the kiel cannal i rammed the dock with my U-46, cause i didnt know there are also docks and other ships but i repaired the damage. Dont know whats hull integrity exactly. Then i spoted my first merchant(coastal or small dont know exactly around 3k brt). I found on which course is she set speed and depth st salvo from 1 and 4 but set port 90 degrees instead starboard. Then i fired from aroung 650 m and just realized my mistake. Quickly set starboard 90 degrees and loss. One torpedo hit she stoped. Then i surfaced and put around 15 shells in her and then just big explosion and big fire. I got the message she's going down. Then i saved and am going to continue today in the evening. This mod is just great. Tnx nygm team for superb work. Im still afraid of destroyers and convoys.

P.S.: One question. I have no map update unchecked but i cant see icons on my nav map. Why is this way?

Look in the Documentation folder of the TW mod. There is an optional mod there that will restore the nav map. otherwise you are stuck with" No God's Eye View"....no matter wheter checked or unchecked in realism settings.
