Default What makes you feel Stupid

1. Traveling in Fog submerged and suddently you ram an enemy boat.
2. Dropping an WaterBomb in your own toilet while leaving your SH3 512x Time and when you come back. your 300 meter deep and sinking further!
3. Or beeing to greedy and your 100 % focused on that C3 cargo while on ur back DD's are gaining on you.
4. Getting rammed by an Speedboat (a small fast moving bastard that hitted me on my tower and Sunk me!)
5. My famous Crash dive and didnt check the depth under urself.

So what are your moments ?

Ehm, number 3 mostly and number 1 occasionally...though sometimes we collide while on the surface.

I should learn when enough is enough. It's better to dive away, survive, and come back for another pass.

Kind regards,

Eichenlaub

After a few close encounters with the ocean floor, I now use an additional 3 seconds to check the depth before crash-diving... dunno if that's a good thing .

Not to brag or anything, but I would never EVER do any of those things!
Oh...except maybe for mixing up my AOD with SHIII and hitting the Enter key to get out of time compression and noticing I just fired a torpedo!

LOL I have always had to hack Enter to TC0 for that very reason. A perfect example of change for no reason.

One stupid moment I had was using a small side channel in Scapa Flow. I thought I could safely raise the snort there and air the boat before I sneaked back out. It wasn't necessary as my air would have lasted, but I did it anyway

The channel turned out to be too shallow, the boat hit bottom. I got flooding, torpedo tube damage and my snort was destroyed. Make that destroyed in the up position, with no way of lowering it. There was no way I could sneak out with the damn thing protruding above the surface. So rather than the enemy getting me I doomed myself. Not my proudest moment

1. While escaping from DD's in shallow waters, I thought it would be a good idea to set the boat down on the ocean floor and wait (100m depth), in the next pass 6 DC's explode right next to the hull for an instant kill...

2. Fired 4 torps at a troop transport in new york harbor before realizing that there is a pier in between, they all hit it...

travelling in dangerous waters at 512x at PD with periscope up.

securing from silent speed while DD's are gaining in enemy harbour just to finish reloading and shoot off again.

I once decided to take on a V&W and a Flower corvette on the surface at the same time. Apparently 4 direct hits from my deck gun to each turret wasn't enough. Needless to say that was one U-Boat not used for cracking enigma...

Running NYGM Tonnage War 2 for the first time and not realising that fatigue continues at all time compressions. Running at 512 TC and the real world door bell rings . When I get back to the computer, the entire crew is asleep on watch!! Shot them out of hand!! Trying to get home in a Type IXD2 with a crew of one

Done that before in U-123 before she went missing. I hit the bottom and she got damaged a bit. Turned out I had to use external cam (Yeah, I'm a cheater, so what) and had to maneuver manually. Destroyed 2 medium tankers and a small tanker. Also got a VW beached. What did the crew think they were doing? I didn't expect the British would let their destroyer captains be that drunk on patrol. I managed to escape eventually after avoiding 8 destroyers. It was disturbingly easy, all I had to do was submerge and go 1 knot. 1939, if you couldn't tell.

PS: I should probably update my sig soon with a new U-Boat. Proceeding to do so.
