Default New graphics card settings...

Hi all....I got a new graphics card yesterday....its the ATI Radeon X1300...which replaces my Nvidia Geforce ti 4600....I was wondering how I should position the settings...anti aliasing..anistropic filtering...catalyst...mipmap detail..refresh rate...etc.......I thought a good test would be the single mission "Bismarck" as there is a lot going on for the video card to handle...and my Nvidia seemed to get bogged down in this mission....and I am sad to say that this card doesnt seem to be able to handle it much better.....can I get better performance and still have a good display at the same time? My system is running windows XP with a Intel Pentium 4 Processor at 2.0GHz with 1 gb of RAM.....Thanx for the help....Rick

Slick Rick, you need to go here :http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=163 and get Riva Tuner 2.0 RC16 its a great little app that reads both Nvidia and ATI graphics card setting, of which then you can then twiddle to your hearts content......FSAA/Aniso/Refresh/Sync...it goes on and on......I just ALT-Tab in and out of the game after setting something up to see if it had a positive or negative effect on my FPS which you can always have on the SH3 screen by Ctrl-F8.

You can then find whats right for your particular card, also while at Guru of 3D look at there modified Warcat drivers..... there tweaked to give you that little bit extra. . I'm no ATI expert so you would have to maybe look at a few forums to see what the "Scene" is......

If you are looking for a good guide about ALL the ATI settings looks here http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_1.html on page 8 and 9.
If you are basically wondering what antialiasing and anisotropic filters are, look here
http://www.tweaktown.com/guides/601/...ide/index.html
Hope this helps!
