Not to be funny, but you do realise the game came with a manual. Right?

The reason I said that is because you threw out about 5 one line questions...which are all pretty much vague.

I don't get what you mean by search area 1 and 2...where is it written?

Try going to periscope radio depth and listen for a radio message. It may be in the message whenever the mission spawns.

This game may not be for you then.. It's widely known the SCS DW manual is one of the best manuals to come with a game in the last 5 years.

You got to be kidding right ?
The manual is good insofar as it describes the buttons, interfaces etc... but it doesn't explain how to play the game.
Thats a big shortcoming.
This was my first naval simulation and if i didn't have access to the various tutorials (tactics etc...) at subguru I would never have learned how to play the different platforms.

Hi Krasny. You need to go to periscope depth and get the radio message. It will give you the coordinates for what the search area is defined by.

Kind regards.

when you get a radio message they tell you the GPS locations of the 2 points. Search area 1 and 2 are really just the ends of the search area. If you want the extra ten points for going to them, more power to ya.

to mark the locations match the longitude and latitude coordinates with those of the radio transmission. put your mouse pointer at each spot and hit enter. Now you know the size of the search area for where the enemy is. Go find him.

Default Again I ask!!!

I have brought this up before, when a member ask for help would it be possible to just give it without insulting the person?
I have been a member of this site for quite a while and I have noted a sharp increase of insulting responses.
Yes DW has a manual, and I agree one of the best around, rivals the original 688i manual, but still a member ASKED FOR HELP, let's just provide the help.
I learned a very long time ago as a Master Chief Petty Officer and Educator you belittle a person asking a question, you stifle learning and progress. "THERE ARE NO STUPID QUESTIONS" only stupid responses.

Let's be good shipmates,

First of all...where are the insults? :hmm: Secondly...yes I gave a gruff response. Know why? Well if you expect a polite response, how about asking politely. I don't know...

"Hello guys, I am very new to this game, so excuse my simple question: how do i find out where 'search area 1 & 2' are?" Thanks in advance.

as opposed to:

"how do i find out where 'search area 1 & 2' are?"

You know...we don't get paid for answering? A simple please or thankyou or just say it in a nice way.

I have been a member of this planet for quite a while and I have noted a sharp increase of bad mannered people.

That's how I see it anyway. If someone came up to you on the street and said "time...now! what is it?" Would you answer? As opposed to "Excuse me...do you have the time please?

The internet is, at best, an inexact medium for communicaton. It is always best to keep that in mind.

The original post could have been interperted in a few ways. For the sake of peace in the valley it is probably best, when faced with that kind of circumstance, to either assume the best of intentions, or just don't reply.

Of course, when someone states that someone or something "sucks arse", that crosses the line.

Sub speak.

Litterally stands for Non Useful Body.

That's a submariner who has not yet received his qualifications.

Default Nub

Kransy;
Like John said NUB is a person not qualified yet, and everyone lets you know. Also NUB's are called NPQ, non-qualified puke.
In short, if there are no seats for the movie all the NUBs have to leave, and anyone with Dolphins will and can check your qual card.
It is serious but in good taste, Submariners take qualifications and our Dolphins very serious.

Keep posting you will advance,
