set up your own custom "F2" command room view

again same as before most greivous apologies if this has been covered in detail before---BUT

go into your
data/cfg/commands_en.cfg

edit this entry to comment out the F2 reference like so

[Cmd10]
Name=Interior_fore_camera
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F020001
;Key0=0x71,,"F2"
Page=0x33000000,3703

then scroll down a little further--

and remove the "shift" requirement for the command room free camera--

like so

[Cmd53]
Name=Command_room_free_camera
Ctxt=1
Key0=0x71,,"F2"
Page=0x33000000,3700
GoBack=Interior_fore_camera

then every time you hit F2 in game you will go directly to the command room free camera---which -as we know- remembers where you last left it
allowing you to return to the same view position each time you press F2

custom command room view--have it any where you like

makes a nice change--

How do you then switch from free roam to the standard interactive view? I'm sorry, I know it should be obvious.

any way you like---right click on screen is one way

You click on a crewman, and he turns and looks at you. You click on him again, and you pass through to his station, where you can work the actual controls. That seems interactive to me. In free roam you float through walls like an invisible ghost without touching anything or anyone looking at you.
