Default Loading Externally Stored Torpedos

Could someone let me know how to load the externally stored torpedos? I invariably return to base with two torpedos and haven't been able to figure out what I need to do. Thanks.

You can only reload them when your on the surface in a calm sea.

All I know is it is dependant on speed as well as being on the surface. I can get them to load if slow and good weather.

I have not figured out if rear reserves can be moved to front though.

Rear reserve cannot be moved forward.

I believe you can load external reserves in any weather condition.

You must have crew in the torpedo room, either bow or stern depending, to transfer external torps.

Just drag and drop into an empty internal slot.

The detection area on the internal slots is a little small, so it makes the drag and drop a little frustrating sometimes.

Yes, the u-boat must be surfaced. Plus crew members must be in the torpedo room you wish to make the transfer. Hold the cursor on the external torpedo and drag to the spare torpedo compartment (not tube). Then move the cursor on the torpedo that you chose to transfer. There should be a countdown started to when the transfer is to be completed. Usually 40 minutes to an hour depending on the crew allocated to the transfer. Also make sure your not in silent running mode.

No, torpedos cannot be tranfered from stern to forward or forward to stern compartments.

I'm pretty sure I've done transfers at different speeds and weather conditions. Best done at night though. If I'm chasing a new contact, depending on the distance I'll do a transfer then. If forced to dive, the transfer ceases and has to be restarted. You don't loose the torpedo.

I remember at first I couldn't figure out how to transfer torpedos; and returned to port with the externals still safely stowed away.

Hope this helps.

It's worth pointing out that you can't move a torp directly into a tube... you must move them into a reserve slot. Or at least that's what I've always found.

Stock game, and uless GW or NYGM have done anything to change this:

reloading external torpedos:

- Must be on the surface.
- Must have crew in torpedo rooms.
- Can bring external stores into the boat ANY weather
- Can bring in external stores at ANY speed.

The only thing you cannot do is:
- Bring in external stores while submerged
- Bring an aft external store to the forward torpedo room or vice versa.
- Load an extenal torpedo store directly into a empty tube. You have to bring it in the boat FIRST. THEN you can load it.
