Anyone know about Canadian Coins?

I was getting in the car today when I noticed a penny on the seat. I picked it up and saw it was Canadian, for some reason I flipped it over and saw a manâ€™s face on it. I knew there should be the Queen of England on it and thought it was strange so I flipped it over and saw the date was 1941.

The coin was minted at â€˜KCâ€™ the inscription reads: â€œGeorgivs VI D : Rex : Et Ind : Imp :

Anyone have any idea what this might be worth if anything? And what does the inscription mean? And why is â€˜Georgeâ€™ Spelled funny?
