If I set my patrol grid to AM01 or AM02 the game will not recognize that I've reached it. Any other grid works fine.

Notice I said set my patrol grid? As in, use SH3 Commander to set it?
I don't recall any problems when the stock game assigned me those grids. |

rls669:
Have you experimented with inputting AM1 and AM2 rather than AM01...AM02? I'm curious to try it once I get in from present patrol. cheers,

The SH3 CMDR instructions state the format is "LL##" for inputting the grid so one should put in AM01 or AM02, not AM1 or AM2.

Roger that Irish, just wondering (out loud) if SH3 is not recognizing the 01 or 02.

Well, I confirmed something--anyway--
I used SH3 Commander and inputted Grid location AM1 instead of AM01...SH3 accepted my input and here's a pic of me heading toward AM01 ![]() and Later I arrived and here's what SH3 shows: ![]() ...so, two things: 1) SH3 Commander will accept AM1 or AM2, and; 2) SH3 will accept that info and show that you are in square AM01. Cheers,

SH3 doesn't recognise patrol grids where the number component starts with 0. AM1 will work, AM01 will not. Have a close look at the stock Flotilla.cfg file and you'll see there are NO grid entries in the format SS0# (or SS# for that matter).
SH3Cmdr hence allows grids like AM1 to be entered so as to "work with" this undocumented SH3 feature. I never bothered writing capture/translation routines in SH3Cmdr because, well, in over a year this is the first time it has been raised, so it's been quite low risk. And to be honest I've lost count of the number of SH3 anomalies that I've built workarounds for. Anyway, what ref said is right. SH3Cmdr simply writes your entered grid to the Career's next patrol details. How it's treated is up to SH3. |
