It might sound strange, especially after I called him "a complete ass" on this forum, but...

I seriously agree with him on this one

Luckily for him, of course, he said nothing of himself or iran so naturally, it doesn't convince me at all - but he's got GW's number right, at least. :hmm:

:hmm: It looks to me like he is trying to get your type of reaction from left-leaning people who reside in the West. This sounds like a rant produced from the office of Howard Dean himself.

The whole letter is BS.

I don't find it any more BS than most other political documents, just that it's obviously skewed to defend his position. There's nothing extraordinary in this, it's the usual half-truths and rhethoric focused around a certain side of the argument. We all obviously know what Mr. Iran Guy really thinks, so it's not like this letter suddenly changes our view. Yes, even those like myself who I assure you are well to the left of Howard Dean :P

Pathetic. Primitive, childish, hypocritical, he has no authority to speak on many matters, human rights, progress, media, Jesus Christ, etc..

Probably meant to impress the simple minds.

Isn't that what politicians usually do? :hmm:

Oh. OK. I see what you mean. In that case, yeah. I agree with you.

Yeah, statements like this are really little to go by. He's honestly accomplishing nothing with Bush himself, and I think the real goal of all this is not to make Bush look bad to the Americans - the Americans have heard it all before. Just another smokescreen.

He's done a fine job outlining old and well-known criticisms - of course you heard this from Howard Dean, because Howard Dean was there well before Mr. Iran Guy. But all of this means nothing. Just a smokescreen to throw over things. It's rather obvious he's playing for time, as he has been for a while, as he will be until things move.

So, let Mr. Iran Guy talk - we know that Mr. Bush is not listening to him. Who is really listening to him, I'm not sure. Surely not even that liberal nightmare Howard Dean . At this rate, I predict that things will move starting from Israel. Israel are the only ones here who have a lot to lose from not moving; Iran is in no position to flex anything but rhethoric, the US have nothing but rhethoric as incentive to move right now - it'll take a push for them to start moving. The best I can hope for is that this push is not mis-directed as it was with Iraq, and takes reality into account over rhethorical goals.

I'm no fundamentalist, especially when it comes to signs and omens and end-of-the-world scenarios, but the way this guy talks he sounds like the anti-Christ.

It's not THAT bad. Many of the things he mentions, like Guantanamo Bay and the West overthrowing Iran's democratic government in the '50s, are legitimate grievances and genuine examples of hypocrisy.

I think the problem is that his actual positions are far more extreme than those espoused in the letter. The letter itself is rational for the most part.
