I have been seeing in various scenarios Helos pinging, so I must assume a dipping Sonar but they are doing 105 knots. UH how is this possible, the MH-60R breaks at anything over 30 knots, and OK lets say some one built a cable that doesn't break, how could they ever ping anything at 105 knots?
Does anyone have an exclamation? Ron Banks MMCM(SS), USN(Ret) ![]() |

OMG HAXORS!!!
Now that the exclamation is out of the way... I have seen in a multiplayer game that a helo came down to dip, was going active, then started heading off again. I was still hearing his pings and seeing the bearing move on the active intercept. Lag or bug? |

But I really would like to know what the letters stand for. I know there are a lot of stuff like LOL etc. I had never seen the ones you used before.

Yep.
I goofed... the helo's will ping when flying along at 75ft. ![]() That was a complicated fix for the helo dipping... and I wound up overlooking something simple. Ok, I'll fix that too for LWAMI 3.03. ![]() Cheers, David

The good news is that I can confirm that they are not detecting contacts unless they are under 55ft (the way I designed it). So that's the good news...
The bad news is that it is not entirely clear at this point how I am going to get the helos to stop pinging above 55ft... I have to venture into an aspect of the doctrines I have been avoiding because I suspect that a lot has changed since Sub Command there (not that I have any sub command experience... but the sub command doctrine interpretor has documentation and tools whereas the DW doctrine interpretor does has no such 3rd party tools at this point, so I'm using the ones from SC and it works ok). I'll let you guys know how its going.

Ok, well, I was just flat out wrong.
All the SensorEnable commands are working just fine. Oh oh this opens up so many opportunities. Ok, I can also fix the REMRO radar-on-at-launch issue with the player FFG AI MH60. ![]() Hmm... maybe I'll do some real modding tonight. ![]()

Last night I was playing a scenario I designed and posted "ASUW SD" and the Kirov launched Helos, 3 of them and here they came pinging their little Butts off, I checked their speed and they were doing 128 Knots, I did not notice the height. They sunk me.

The Kirov probably had you on sonar and launched the helos... they had a kill solution on you from the get go, but not from their sonar systems.

I was closing the Kirov at 20 knots and she suddenly changed course and then I heard the Helos pinging and they came right to me.

Watch out! In LWAMI 3.xx, surface ships can put their towed arrays under the layer.
