Default Scotty, beam me up...

When I read things like this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7050788.stm it makes me stop and wonder why we bother with all the other cr*p we find to fight about, like the whole Middle East thing...

I don't accept "climatic change warnings" at face value from the media, but one has to admit, there appears to be *something* going on...:hmm:

Time to buy some Joojanta 2000 Peril Sensitive Sunglasses I guess...

yes it may well turn out that were "fiddle-ing whilst rome burns"

we seem to be too stupid to survive...heck we all have house insurance car insurance life insurance and yet we don't have the sense to take out planetary insurance and just gawd damn plant some trees..they do the job required (in part at least)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7053332.stm

and they look kinda nice too don't you agree...?

what's so hard about it ...governments don't want to be seen as "tree huggers"?
saving the planet is seen as leftist wimpy crap..???

LOL yup we're to stupid to survive,,,no doubt about it...course the real proof of just how stupid we are is that we've known this was coming for half a century...and we still haven't planted the trees..and we probably never will...we've planted just about every other type of "crop" but no trees....ah well...that's what you get with leaving a bunch of overly clever monkeys in charge of the place

we are fast aproaching the point where we finally discover the real difference between merely being clever and actualy being intelligent..so the question remains the same..

"Spock...is there an intelligent species on this planet??"
"..not sure captain...but there is a very very clever bunch of apes..will that do..?"
"no....i'm afraid it won't do ..it won't do at all.."
"very well take her out of orbit zulu..this species is dead man walking"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7058627.stm

evolution favours the "survival of the fittest" method -at least in the beggining
but maybe it also favours in our current position in history the "fit to survive" method aswell

the critical period of transition from tribal politics to GLOBAL politics...which kinds depends very heavily on there being an inhabitable globe left to live on...it's this period that defines wether we just clever apes dragging worms out of crevices with twigs or intelligent..because we can't hide from ourselves and what we do anymore..before we truly develop the technology to go into space..we also develop the technology to destroy not only our selves directly with war...but also to destroy ourslevs just as effectively with pollution and destruction of our natural habit..the result of which will make a nuclear winter seem like a minor patch of inclement weather..

there are no doubt other species and other planets for evolution to "play with" out there...(or are we stiil being stupid on that one as well?)

on an infinty wide scale it really doesn't make a jot of difference wether the human race survives or not...completely unimportant...except to us...so we're back to the stupid thing again ...i wouldn't mind but we seem to be in such a RUSH to bol**ks it all up aswell..like a drunk driver who thinks he's still sober enough to take the upcoming bend at 120 mph..and we all know he isn't

all this because we simply refuse to plant trees..what do we hate trees? are trees a blot on the landscape?
we'll build a nuclear power station...huge industrial estates..massive shopping arcades...but no forests eh??
even if they didn't reverse the situation they almost certainly would give us a couple of extra decades to work with when it comes down to the moment.. that insurance thing.....and if we had done this half a century ago then well we may well have found there was now climate problems at all right now...or at least nothing like the scale were facing at the moment...

of course if some scientist develops a MACHINE that removes CO2 from the atmosphere and replaces it with oxygen..we may well build them by the millions...we don't need a machine....the planet has a perfectly designed system to do the job...trees...

trees may not be clever but they are intelligent

so yes beam me up too..i don't want to be around when the human races mask drops
