Found in NGabbiano.UDF and some others; what do these parameters do? I guess they affect the "detectability" of the unit. Please tell me how they can be used:
[FRAMEWORK] [RADAR] AspectFront = 100.0 AspectSide = 100.0 AspectRear = 100.0 [SOUND] EchoFront = 100.0 EchoSide = 100.0 EchoRear = 100.0 Noise = 100.0 [AI] ![]() ![]()

Your guess is more or less right, but as usual with SH2/DC they do not always work as you would suppose...

Ah, but they do work, after a fashion, so playing with them won't be a waste of time. Thanks!

A long time ago in a choppy sea far away i had come across those, added them to some of the german uboats and set all the values to zero and then .25 I ran down a number of missions using these edits. found no change whatsoever in the ability of the ai to detect my sub.
I recall having been concerned that these lines could effectively render the sub "invisible" to both radar and sonar. |

That's too bad, we could have interesting times with them if they worked. I guess
they're just another interesting feature that Ubisoft left undone in its pursuit of gelt uber alles.

in general setting the sonar sensitivity in the sim ini to 0.7 or 0.8 helps.
you can also mess about with CrewRating (0.3 - 1.0) at each wep/sensor in the udf. it doesnt affect every station equally. in some cases you might note no change. this is from the stock nssuboat9Cgun found in sh2 unit folder but not used in game [WEAPON1] Type = TURRET Node = Main1 System = Gun105mm ElevRange = -10,50 TravRange1 = 0,-165,165 CountAmmo = TRUE MagazineCount1 = 150 CrewRating = 1.0 |

these setting if they do work likely function directly on the destroyers sensors rather than the subs--(they are on one or two stock destroyers after all
![]() so it's allways worth banging them in all the DD's in the hope that it might enhance gameplay-- i got the sense that they did work--especailly the noise--hard to test of course as there's no debug system to show the figures-- try [SOUND] EchoFront = 100.0 EchoSide = 100.0 EchoRear = 0.0 Noise = 100.0 for example to help generate the rear ward blind spot-- can't remember exactly what set i used of hand-- but i worked on the idea that if it did work then wonderfull stuff --if it didn't then it's just text in a file --end of story-- ![]()
