I'm a computer consultant by trade and always looking for easy, cheap (free!) ways to host files for myself and clients. While looking for ways to distribute the GW installer I made, I came across a free HTTP file server that really impressed me. It's called HFS and you can check it out at http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/. It's small (fits on a floppy), highly-configurable and - so far - is working great for me. You can see it in action on my server at http://filebox.billsalyers.com. I'm hosting the GW installer there. If you want to try the authentication, log in as "greywolf" with the password "subsim". It's so efficient and easy to use, it would even be a good alternative for image hosting for sigs on forums like subsim.
I wanted to make people aware of it because it might be a viable distribution option for home-hosting mods. It even supports dynamic DNS. Cheers!
